Deep Dive Study Visit Nantes
REFILL partners from Nantes, Poznan, Cluj-Napoca, Helsinki and Ghent are coming together to discuss how temporary use can be applied as a structural instrument in the process of urban planning and renewal.
REFILL is organising a series of Deep Dive Study Visits to explore in depth issues and practices from the partner cities regarding temporary use.
In this meeting, to be held in Nantes on 29-31 May 2017, partners from Nantes, Poznan, Cluj-Napoca, Helsinki and Ghent will share experiences on how temporary use can be a key support for economic development and the emergence of new businesses, start-ups, incubators etc. Beyond the dynamic of each single temporary use we will observe a higher level of synergies between different temporary use accommodating a different nature of initiatives and altogether experimenting and changing the nature of urban redevelopment.
The particular themes to be discussed are:
- Economic development through temporary use
- Temporary use as a tool for experimentation: the first citizen participatory TU projects in Nantes at the banks of the Loire river
- The creative and cultural industries cluster in Nantes: temporary use in a more permanent way
